The Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges is a non-profit
organization whose primary purpose is to represent the interests of
the community colleges of Pennsylvania. In order to carry out the
purpose of the organization, the Commission supports other activities,
such as:
• Assisting the colleges in development positions on issues
of concern to them and to their constituencies; •
Advocating the needs and positions of the colleges as a whole;
• Facilitating the exchange of information among the colleges
and their various staff organizations; and
• Collecting or coordinating the collection and dissemination
of data necessary to fulfill the purposes of the colleges.
The Commission is government by a Board of Directors composed of the
president and the chair of the Board of Trustees of each member community
college, or his or her designee. Its operating unit is a Council of
Presidents composed of the president of each of the member colleges
